Congruity

Everything here is the same,
The people are boring and plain.
And nobody seems to care,
Their faces are lifeless and bare.
They're trying to make me like them,
They're trying to shut me down.
Is it worse to be contained
When you're conscious of the world all around?
I have to leave,
It has to be now,
I've suffered enough,
So please let me out.
Quietly, in the night,
I make my escape.
Light feet, heavy heart,
I hope it's not too late.
They know, oh God, they know,
But I can't turn back.
I can smell the fresh air,
There's no turning back.

I barely made it out of there alive,
I hope that I can find somewhere to thrive.
I'm lost on the road,
I'm so cold and alone,
But if I go back
They'll make me a clone.
This little town in front of me,
Everyone's smiling, and everyone's happy,
But nobody works at all.
They live in filth, among the pigs,
Their hair's rotted out and they all wear wigs,
This isn't what I want.
Maybe I'll go back home,
This town isn't worth being alone.
What am I saying, I could be crazy,
I left and I'm not going back.

Heredity

My first day away was a disaster,
But I don't think I'll ever go back home.
Across the bridge and over the river
Lies a tiny village hidden in plain sight.
I think I could establish a home here,
But I feel like something isn't quite right...
Is something unsatisfactory better than nothing at all?
Is there any place that I can follow my own rules?
Everybody here does the same thing
Their parents did before they were born.
How could I break into the system?
When I'm not from the first generation?
Move along,
Just keep going.

Tyranny

I wonder if I'll ever find a home.
Is there a place for people like me?
What kind of place is this empty?
No grass or trees as far as I can see.
These people are broken,
This town is decrepit,
They may as well be slaves,
Their leader's a tyrant.
Maybe I could help them escape?
Maybe I could set them all free,
But why risk my own life this way?
Their freedom doesn't change my position.
I have to keep moving,
This place is so hopless.

This is it, it's my last chance,
I've got nothing to lose,
But so much to prove.
This is the last town
Before I go back home.
Oh please don't let me down.
I wonder if I'll finally get lucky,
I hope I will,
This could be the end of my journey,
Let's hope it is.
Someday I will find where I belong,
I hope that day comes soon.
Someday I will prove the whole world wrong,
I hope I'll show you too.
This could be the home of my dreams,
Where everything is as it seems.
These people are so happy,
They all look unique,
They all look so free,
Could this be it?
Have I found it?
The one place for me?
Oh please let it be.
This place exists for everyone,
You don't have to be just like them.
Start your journey, find your home.
Freedom is out there.
I think I found the place where I belong,
I hope you find yours too.
I think I've finally proved the whole world wrong,
I hope I've showed you too.
